Mother: Shadow of Injustice selected for Tegenstroom

Mother: Shadow of Injustice was selected for Filmfestival Tegenstroom 2026, the Dutch-Flemish short film festival, which took place in Studio Skoop in Ghent.
The film screened within the programme Special 2 on Friday 18 September at 14:00 and on Saturday 19 September at 17:00, both in theatre 2. The selection also included a masterclass during the festival.
Mother: Shadow of Injustice tells the story of Rozhin (65), a Kurdish woman with a premonition of her impending death. In a besieged city in Turkish Kurdistan, she embarks on a final, dangerous journey to visit her daughter and grandchildren. A stray dog roams freely, silently observing the absurdity and despair of human life in this magical-realist film.
The film is directed by Ibrahim Karatay and is a DotInk Cinema production, in co-production with Alchemic Film (NL) and Harald House (BE).
